This unusual chrysanthemum produces attractive sprays of salmon blooms. Each bloom has rolled petals with a lime green and gold centre. Florists chrysanthemums can be grown out of doors, but if you want top quality flowers for exhibition or cutting or live in an area with early autumn frosts, they are best grown in pots of John Innes No.3 compost. Start them early in a heated greenhouse, stand outdoors after the last frosts, then bring them back under glass in early autumn to protect the flowers. 'Sizzle Salmon' is grown as a spray chrysanth, so no disbudding is done - all the buds at the tips of the stems are allowed to develop. Plants are kept for one year only, and multiplied by cuttings taken in spring.
