Sunflowers are among the easiest of annuals to grow and their bold flowers are guaranteed to brighten up any summer border. This variety which features in the Gardeners' World Sunflower Trial 2004, has bright golden yellow flowers with pale brown centres. 'Irish Eyes' is a shorter growing variety that is perfect for pots and tubs as well as the front of the border. The flower heads can be cut for the house or alternatively left on the plant for the birds to enjoy the seed-heads that follow.
