This is a particularly good, hardy, vigorous species producing attractive tufts of mid-green foliage. During late summer or early autumn, large rounded heads of numerous deep-blue, bell-shaped flowers are produced on tall sturdy stems. To get the best effect grow plants in large drifts in the border or use several plants in a large container on the patio. They enjoy a sunny position in moist but well-drained soil. This variety has been awarded the prestigious Award of Garden Merit from the Royal Horticultural Society.
