This tender evergreen shrub is grown for its sweetly scented, creamy white flowers, which appear from late spring to early summer. It also has attractive cream variegated foliage. Plants are found growing wild in China, Korea and Japan. In the UK, they are best grown either in the greenhouse border or in a large container of John Innes No3 soil-based compost. Water regularly and feed once a month when in growth.
