Design inspiration

"The idea for our garden was born when I was working with the 'Gardening Committee' a group of Year 2 children. They are responsible for developing the school grounds during the year.

"We started to think about our own garden design based on the school grounds. It started out as a bit of problem solving in the real world - the children brainstormed ideas, measured the plot size on the playground and then drew the plot to scale. They cut and pasted coloured paper to show different elements - the pond, greenhouse, vegetable and fruit garden, sensory garden and then moved them around until they were satisfied with the design. We asked Sarah Harvey to make our design look a bit more 'professional' and sent it in…… …the rest as they say is history!"
