The Chase Secret Garden

Design inspiration

Maxine Sims"My inspiration has come from the famous children's novel 'The Secret Garden' in which a parallel is drawn between the neglect of the children in the story and the garden which they discover. In the restitution of the garden, the children find their own health and well-being restored. Our garden shows the potential beauty of a traditional English garden within the walls of the secret garden and contrasts it with the manicured display of an herbaceous long border on the same grand estate.

"Chase hospice care for children is a charity which works with time-limited children; they are a wonderful team and require 3 million a year to keep going. It is the wonderful work that they do which inspired me to dedicate the garden to them and to raise awareness and funds for them."
