Alistair Kirt Bayford: Caged

Caged

Design inspiration

Bronze Flora medal "Caged is a conceptual space, which seeks to illustrate or question what a garden could be. It examines the relationship between man and nature, and represents this through bold design. In its simplest sense the garden denotes that each element of a space be it hard or soft, has a unique ascendancy over the other.

"During the sketch design stage I wanted to create a garden that was different from the norm. A space that wasn't a low maintenance garden for the young professional couple. I wanted it to be an environment which was habitable by both man and nature. Then the concept was born, 'Caged' - nature creating a green place."

Alistair Kirt Bayford - designer of Caged
