Nigel Slater and Vanessa Redgrave

Vanessa Redgrave

Cookery writer Nigel Slater met actor Vanessa Redgrave for a retrospective of her life through favourite recipes.

Vanessa Redgrave

Vanessa Redgrave reminisced over the food of her youth, while revealing some of the pressures of growing up within a performing family. She talked candidly about life as an actress, as well as her involvement in human rights causes.

The show started with Vanessa’s daughter, Hollywood actress Natasha Richardson, springing a food-related surprise message on her mother. Later actor Alan Corduner popped in to make an orange cake, plus Vanessa made her favourite cocktail, combining dark Barbados rum, pineapple juice, orange juice and grenadine.
