The winner and a friend have each won a place at Rick Stein's Seafood School in Padstow, Cornwall. There they will attend a French Odyssey cookery course on Thursday 27 October 2005. The one-day course, inspired by Rick's new TV series 'French Odyssey’, features classic seafood recipes from southern France, Brittany and Bordeaux. The day begins at 9.00am with a cookery demonstration by Rick's chefs, after which students will learn to prepare and cook the same dishes. They will be cooking several dishes throughout the morning, the last of which will become their lunch. Then they can sit back, relax and enjoy chatting to fellow students. The afternoon centres around chef-led demonstrations, in which they can get involved if they wish to. During this session they will be working on a further selection of dishes, techniques, cooking methods and new flavours. The day finishes at approximately 4.00pm by which time they will have experienced a great day's cooking. The prize also includes all cooking ingredients, refreshments throughout the day, a recipe folder to take away and a certificate signed by Rick Stein. As part of the prize, the night before the course (Wednesday 26 October) will include bed and breakfast for two people plus an evening meal served at Rick Stein's Padstow cafe.
