Neneh Cherry Singer Neneh Cherry will always be associated with Buffalo Stance, her 1989 cover of a B-side by the band Morgan McVey. She is the stepdaughter of the jazz trailblazer Don Cherry, and the daughter of the West African percussionist Amadu Jah and artist Moki Cherry. Neneh began singing with the punk band the Cherries at the age of 16, after leaving school at 14. Since then she has worked with the Slits, Cameron McVey (now her husband), Michael Stipe, Portishead's Geoff Barrow, Youssou N'Dour and Gorillaz. She has recently finished an album with her new band Cirkus. Andrea Oliver  Alongside Neneh Cherry, Andrea Oliver fronted the band Rip Rig and Panic who broke up in 1983; then after the birth of her daughter she became involved with the Brighton-based band Kalimba, an African-influenced band. In 1990, Andrea and her brother joined forces to become the Mighty Hog described, as "a mix of anything that has ever grooved". She remains very much involved in music and is currently working on a project with the design and music collective Tomato. Andrea has presented various TV shows, including Backstage at the Brits, Badass TV with Ice T and other projects on Channel 4. Andrea also joined Jon Snow and Darcus Howe to take part in Channel 4’s White Tribe debate. Andrea was the host of an afternoon show on the BBC's GLR for three years and is the host of The Selector, a radio show for The British Council that has been nominated for a Sony Award in Music Programming. Andrea has also hosted coverage for BBC Four of the first-ever Radio 3 World Music Awards and was also invited to take part in the charity gala performance of the Vagina Monologues at The Royal Albert Hall.
