This recipe was cooked by amateur chefs as part of the BBC's Step Up to the Plate television programme.
4 tbsp ready-made mayonnaise
2 tsp tomato purée
3-4 drops Tabasco sauce
1 lemon, juice only
½ onion, finely chopped
1 tsp malt whisky
Iceberg lettuce, washed and dried, inner leaves only
pinch paprika
For the prawns, bring a saucepan of water to the boil, add the prawns and cook for 5-6 minutes until pink. Drain and refresh in water until cool, then mix with the chopped tomato.
For the Marie-rose sauce, mix the sauce ingredients in a bowl until well combined.
To serve, stand the lettuce leaves around the insides of a serving glass, then spoon the prawn and tomato mixture into the bottom of the glass and pour over the Marie-rose sauce. Sprinkle with the paprika.
Type the ingredients you want to use, then click Go. For better results you can use quotation marks around phrases (e.g. "chicken breast"). Alternatively you can search by chef, programme, cuisine, diet, or dish (e.g. Lasagne).
