Red berry sour

Ingredients

  • 1 large fresh strawberry, hull removed, plus extra to garnish

  • 2 fresh raspberries, plus extra to garnish

  • 2 fresh red cherries, stones and stalks removed, plus extra to garnish

  • 3 drops bitters

  • 20ml/¾fl oz freshly squeezed lemon juice

  • 15ml/½fl oz fruits of the forest cordial (available from specialist stores or online retailers)

  • 50ml/2fl oz cask whisky

  • ice cubes

Preparation method

  1. Place the strawberries, raspberries and red cherries into a cocktail shakers and crush lightly (muddle) with a long-handled spoon.

  2. Add the bitters, lemon juice, cordial and whisky, then add the ice and shake well.

  3. To serve, half-fill a long cocktail glass with ice. Strain over the mixture. Thread the remaining berries onto a cocktail stick and hook it over the side of the glass.
