For the pain perdu, in a bowl beat together all the pain perdu ingredients, except the bread and butter, until well combined. Soak the bread in the egg mixture for 2-3 minutes.
Heat the butter in a frying pan over a medium heat. Fry the soaked bread for 5-6 minutes over a gently heat, turning over halfway through cooking, until golden-brown on both sides.
For the vanilla cream, whisk the cream and vanilla seeds together until the mixture forms soft peaks when the whisk is removed.
To serve, place the pain perdu onto a plate and spoon over the vanilla cream. Top with orange slices and drizzle with honey.
