
Get a feel for a high-class oriental bar with this sophisticated pairing of cognac and mandarin.
4 kumquats, halved
1 tsp vanilla syrup
25ml/1fl oz lemongrass and ginger syrup (bottle green)
35ml/1¼fl oz cognac
1 tbsp mandarin liqueur
Place the kumquats, syrups, cognac and mandarin liqueur in a cocktail shaker and bash (muddle) with the end of a clean rolling pin.
Add ice and shake hard until well combined.
Strain the cocktail into a martini glass and garnish with a split kumquat.
