  • 1 large ripe dark fresh fig, flesh only, plus 1 slice fresh fig, to serve

  • 2 tsp clear honey

  • 35ml/1½oz Cognac

  • 1 tsp crème de figue

  • 25ml/1fl oz freshly squeezed orange juice

  • 25ml/1fl oz sweet vermouth

  • ice

Preparation method

  1. Place the fig flesh, honey, Cognac, crème de figue, orange juice and sweet vermouth into a cocktail shaker. Add ice and shake well.

  2. Strain the mixture into an old fashioned cocktail glass. Hook the slice of fig over the side of the glass.
