For the broccoli and sweetcorn, heat the oil in a frying pan over a medium heat, add the onion and garlic and fry for 2-3 minutes, or until softened.
Add the sweetcorn kernels and broccoli and fry for a further 4-5 minutes or until the broccoli is tender. Season, to taste, with salt and freshly ground black pepper.
For the John Dory, rub the John Dory fillet all over with the oil.
Heat a separate frying pan over a medium heat, add the John Dory, skin-side down and fry for about 1-2 minutes.
Turn the fish fillet over, add the soy sauce and fry for a further minute, or until just cooked through.
To serve, spoon the broccoli and sweetcorn into the centre of a serving plate. Place the John Dory fillet on top.
