Homemade pesto is far superior to shop bought and very easy to make. This version uses roast garlic which adds a mellow unctuousness - perfect if you find raw garlic too overpowering.
Finely grate the parmesan and tip it into a blender or food processor. Peel the garlic, tear the leaves from the bunch of basil and add both along with the oil and pine nuts. Blitz to a paste and season to taste with salt and freshly ground black pepper.
Type the ingredients you want to use, then click Go. For better results you can use quotation marks around phrases (e.g. "chicken breast"). Alternatively you can search by chef, programme, cuisine, diet, or dish (e.g. Lasagne).
