Ingredients

4 slices of bread 200ml/7¼fl oz milk 200ml/7¼fl oz double cream 110g/4oz soft brown sugar 110g/4oz unsalted butter
Method

1. Pre-heat the oven to 220C/425F/Gas 7. 2. Arrange the bread slices into a small ovenproof baking dish. 3. Pour the milk and the cream over. 4. In a pan, gently melt the sugar and butter, to form a caramel. Pour the caramel over the bread and bake in the oven for 10-12 minutes, until golden and cooked. 5. Remove from the oven and serve.
