Bread and butter pudding

Ingredients

butter for greasing
2 croissants, sliced
100ml/3½fl oz cream
1 free-range egg
1 free-range egg yolk
50g/1¾oz sugar
extra cream, to serve (optional)

Method

1. Preheat the oven to 220C/428F/Gas 7.
2. Butter a small oven dish and layer the croissant slices in the dish.
3. Mix together the cream, egg and egg yolk and sugar. Pour over the croissants and bake in the oven for 10 minutes.
4. Remove from the oven and pour over extra cream, if you like, to serve.
