Quick Recipe


Ingredients
2 thick French loaves
a little butter
4 dozen oysters, shelled
cornmeal for dusting
salt and freshly ground pepper
oil for deep frying
Tabasco sauce
dill pickle (pickled gherkins), sliced


Method
1. Cut the loaves in half lengthways. Toast each half and spread with a little butter.
2. Dust the oysters in cornmeal, salt and pepper, and deep-fry in hot oil for a few minutes.
3. Make a sandwich with the toast, oysters, sprinkled with Tobasco sauce, and sliced dill pickle.
