Damson and sesame seed crumble

Preparation method

  1. Preheat oven 180C/350F/Gas 4.

  2. Heat the damsons and caster sugar in a saucepan, over a low heat, until the sugar melts. Continue to cook for 5-6 minutes, or until the damsons have softened and the liquid resembles a syrup. Transfer the mixture to a small ovenproof dish.

  3. Meanwhile, blend the flour, brown sugar, butter, sesame seeds and ground ginger together in a food processor until well combined. Crumble this mixture on top of the stewed damsons and transfer to the oven to bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden-brown. Serve the crumble with a dollop of Greek-style yoghurt.
