Chilli and mango Margarita


  • 2 slices green chilli

  • 1 tbsp fresh lime juice

  • 2 tsp agave syrup (available in most supermarkets)

  • 35ml/1¼fl oz tequila

  • 1 tbsp orange liqueur

  • 25ml/1fl oz mango purée (made by blending and sieving a mango)

Preparation method

  1. Place the chilli into a cocktail shaker and mash (muddle) with the end of a rolling pin.

  2. Add the lime juice, agave syrup, tequila, orange liqueur and mango purée with some ice and shake well.

  3. Dampen one side of the rim of a Martini glass and dip into sea salt to coat.

  4. Strain the cocktail into the Martini glass and garnish with a slice of mango.
