Bouquet smash


  • bouquet garni of 1 fresh basil leaf, 2 fresh sage leaves and 1 sprig fresh rosemary, tied with string

  • 1 orange wedge (peel on)

  • 1 lemon wedge (peel on)

  • 2 chunks fresh pineapple

  • 50ml/2fl oz Cognac

  • 2 tsp vanilla syrup (available from specialist drinks suppliers)

Preparation method

  1. Place the bouquet garni into a cocktail shaker and crush (muddle) with a muddler or the end of a rolling pin. Add the orange, lemon, pineapple, Cognac and vanilla syrup and some ice and stir well.

  2. Shake hard and then strain into a tumbler filled with crushed ice.
