
Make up a unique fig and garam masala syrup and use it in this cocktail and your own creations this Christmas.
1 jar fig jam
1 tsp garam masala
35ml/1fl oz bourbon whiskey
15ml/½fl oz fresh lemon juice
2 dash angostura bitters
For the fig and garam masala syrup, heat the fig jam in a saucepan, add a small cup of water and gently heat to break down the jam. Add one teaspoon of ground garam masala and stir in well. Leave to cool and strain into an air-tight jar.
For the cocktail, place 10ml/½fl oz of the syrup, the whiskey, lemon juice and bitters into a cocktail shaker with ice and shake hard. Strain into a cocktail glass and serve.
