Alain, son of Michel Roux Snr, started his career in the kitchen with an apprenticeship in pastry. After touring some of France’s most recognised restaurants, he returned to Berkshire to the Roux-run Waterside Inn, where he is now chef-patron. As of November 2015, Alain is joint chairman of the Roux Scholarship, along with his cousin Michel Roux Jr.
