Fish and chips: What does it take to make the best?
What does it take to make the best fish and chips?
Dave Hanbury, of Hanbury's chip shop and restaurant in Babbacombe, Torquay, Devon has won the 2013 South West Independent Takeaway Fish and Chip Shop of the Year Award.
In fact he has been entering the Seafish National Fish and Chip Awards for 25 years, and has taken away eight gongs, last year coming second in the best restaurant category.
Dave Hanbury puts his success down to using the freshest fish, traceable to the trawler it was caught on, a light and crisp batter made with carbonated water, and delicious hand-processed chips.
