Discuss the nominees and all things sport on our message board

Five Live are looking to find out what you think is the greatest piece of sporting commentary of all time. We've whittled your suggestions down to a shortlist of nine.

From Tuesday 16th August through to Thursday 18th August, we asked you to vote on your favourite from three clips each day - with the winners of the heats going head-to-head in the grand final.

The winner of heat 1, on Tuesday, was Ian Robertson's description of the closing stages of the Rugby World Cup final of 2003.

Ian Robertson
Australia 17-20 England: Rugby World Cup Final, Telstra Stadium, Sydney
22 November 2003

Rugby correspondent Ian Robertson was the man commentating for Five Live during the nerve-wracking final moments in Sydney.

England were taking on the might of Australia on their own turf and the game had been nip and tuck all the way through, looking certain to go into an extra 'sudden-death' period. When Matt Dawson set up Jonny Wilkinson for the drop goal, our man could barely control the emotion in his shaking voice as the ball spun towards the uprights. Listen out for Rob Andrew shrieking in the background...

Bjorn Lillelien
Norway 2-1 England: World Cup Qualifier, Ullevaal Stadium, Oslo
9 September 1981

Norwegian TV commentator Bjorn Lillelien launched into one of the most unashamedly partisan pieces of commentary ever when Norway beat England 2-1 in Oslo.

The man must have had a list of great English men and women in front of him and proceeded to reel off their names in his excitement. It remains one of the all-time greatest taunts of England supporters.

Barry Davies
Derby County 1-0 Manchester City: The Baseball Ground
20 September 1975

Francis Lee had been a massive figure at Manchester City, scoring 112 league goals in nearly eight years with the Maine Road club.

Then Derby County signed him for £100,000 at the start of the 74/75 season and he immediately helped his new club to their second Championship win in four years. Later in 1975, Franny lined up for Derby against City and scored a blinder, prompting some legendary commentary from Barry Davies.
