1pm: Simon looks at a report out from a committee of MPs telling us that the national testing system in English schools is being misused as teachers are spending too much time ‘teaching to the test’, much to the detriment of children’s education

2pm: John Holmes, the UN under-secretary for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief co-ordinator joins Simon to talk about his role.

2.30pm: Simon is joined by huge-selling thriller writer John Connolly who has a new book out called ‘The Reapers’.

3pm: Why are we suffering more from allergies? Simon discusses this with John Collard the Clinical Director of Allergy UK, Mark Jackson the author of ‘Allergy – History of the Modern Malady’, Jessica Snyder Sachs the author of ‘Good Germs, Bad Germs: Health and Survival in a Bacterial World’ and May Holland who suffers from numerous severe allergies.
