What was your worst on-air nightmare?

I've had loads - unsurprisingly. Once I was late for a bulletin at 4am and ran in as the jingle was ending. I gasped my way through the first story - the presenter was looking at me in horror. I felt like crying. I'd only been at 5 Live for a few weeks.
Without doubt, the worst ever was when I was broadcasting from the opening of Terminal 5 at Heathrow this year. I introduced a guest as a baggage handler at Heathrow - that was what was written on my script - and he started shouting that he wasn't and that I should apologise and correct the mistake immediately. It wasn't pretty. |
