Interviewing a ridiculously arrogant and obstructive Russian author for the Global Programme on 5 live. It was a pre-recorded interview - thankfully - which meant that after 15 minutes of trying to have a decent conversation with him, my hard-faced gene kicked in, I asked him if he thought I was there for the good of my health, he looked shocked, and I ended the interview.
It was the single biggest waste of time I can recall. He wore sunglasses throughout, which tells you everything you need to know.
