WHAT IS A...
One-Minute Movie?

Get Filming

One-Minute Movies is your chance to make a short film that we'll publish on the web for the world to see.

You have up to 60 seconds in which to make a film, and we'll do our best to give you tips and advice.

Why We're Doing It. Why You Should Too.

There are many websites about making films but we thought they were all a bit too serious, a bit too technical. The spirit behind One-Minute Movies is to just pick up a camera and shoot.

What We're Looking For
We're not looking for epic films with sweeping stories. Brilliant photography? Not necessary. Quality actors? No thanks. Big budgets? Forget them. If you want to make a film about your dog playing with a stick, why not? There are rules for One-Minute Movies, but they're not about how you should make your film or how good you are with a camera. This is not a competition. We only want to see what you can do.

How Do I Do It?
You could use:

  • a home video camera
  • a digital stills camera with a motion picture facility
  • Flash to make an animated movie

You might not know that most digital still cameras can also record several minutes of audio and video. And did you know that many computers provide video editing software as standard? Basic tools are there for you so why not have a go?
