SYNOPSIS OF STORY

During certain auspicious times of the year, Hindus believe that in exchange for performing specific tests of endurance, in effect putting their faith to the test, their every wish will be granted. The young woman endured the Colombo heat for many miles from temple to temple. One imagines what it was she wished for?

Director - A Kamalakkannan

Jasmine
maybe the woman wished for the people to stop rolling her on the floor

Nina
In this country we use steam engine rollers to flatten the tarmac (they last longer!)

What's with the Chopin music - is it neant to kake it seem tragic!

very good, thought the music really suited the film. nice one.

Giro
Nicely done, makes you think how powerful belief can be.... glad I seen that!

H-Cubed
That was fascinating. I don't think it needs any explanation. Sometimes it's amazing just to wonder and never know. Brilliant use of music.

Iker
It has mood and dramatism, but you need to explain to the people who aren't familiar with this tradiction. I think you need to chop off the last shot right until the camera pans (because it is not a very necessary movement) and insert a written explanation of what is going on; I think that would work just fine.

Norman
thought this was terriblewoman rolling on the floor?!?!?! was she drunk?

Brian
nice film

This short, once again, proved how stupid religious extremism is. I felt sorry for her. And for me watching her.

This is Beautifully captured and I like the clash between occidental music and oriental vision

el gringo
change the music and you have a winner!

Vahlto
Nice movie! Chopin was a good choice of music, since it seems to express the almost tragic determination of this woman. I would have liked to see her get up when reaching her destination. But maybe without that, it gives you a feeling of 'perpetuum mobile'.

Movie Moghul
Beautifully captured. Simple cuts

Revolver
Hey I like the vision of this director. A little quirk is good.

Roberto
Incredible, particularly the early shots.

Boney
Stick another three hours on the end and you've got a winner

I see Herzog is the making.

To Mr Kamalalkkannan, what a GREAT film, it really catches the spirit of Hinduism, I myself have been to Ceylon, and wondered what this was for, thank-you for your enlightenment. This is shot interestingly and you seem to have great potential, however the quality of the picture is poor, this may be due to the computer, however, I would confirm with the site co-ordinators. Congradulations

IT LOOKED INTERESTING - I IMAGINE THIS WOULD MAKE A WONDERFUL LITTLE DOCUMENTARY. ANY MORE FOOTAGE TO SHOW.

Rich
liked it, simple, but sad to say it needs a v.o. to explain the synopsis, the viewer needs the background info.

Compulsive viewing though i thought the music should have been localised to give it more impact - the English sounding piano tries to hard to evoke emotion and flattens it. PS. Im off to write a positive review for Population Dynamics now! : )
