SYNOPSIS OF STORY

This is a rather "Pythonesque" or surreal production based on my many observations of women in childbirth, especially of my wife who stars in this film. It basically muses on what it would be like to see a banana appear in a similar manner to the way it conventionally disappears from existence!

Director - William Holmes

I am an NHS hospital doctor who is fairly new to the world of filmmaking. Prior to this film, I had only made a couple of very short movies for use in a church context, the first on VHS. I graduated to Mini-DV as I was disappointed with the picture quality of VHS after it had been processed by my computer. What amazes me is how many hours it takes to produce a minute or two of video! I think this film is quite funny, but my daughter describes it as gross. What do YOU think?

Nice concept, But I feel it's been done. A severe use of film reverse may have been needed here, but all in all I felt it to be a bit plain, and lacked any major "what's going to happen" value. It amounts to predictability.

This is a poor film, and not really that funny. I think that the maker is more fascinated in the rewinding of a film, than actually making a real 1-minute movie.

Terrible. This is just a shot of someone eating -reversed. Not new, not clever, not even delivered in a humourous way. One-minute movies dont have to be lacking in inspiration.

Good idea, but it isn't well conveyed. I know 60 seconds isn't a lot of time but you could have used it better. There are only 2 framings in the entire film (no close-ups or long shots) and the shot of the nurse against a plain tiled wall looks flat and boring. You need to learn film's stylistic elements and use them better.

Not too sure about that... I like the idea but I'm not too sure about the actual film! (and by the way, to increase VHS quality get a better video capture card - that's what I'm using, i recommend a LiveView FlyTV because they're cheap but good.)
