I was disappointed with this movie; it was quite cruel in places [the humour, i mean]and the characters were not very sympathetic. Laura Linney is a good actress but has never come across as empathetic. I hope she doesn't win the oscar! sorry, but this is a cold and bleak film

This is one of the best black comedies from an auteuse writer-director since Sarah Watt's brilliant Look Both Ways. I can't believe Juno won the best original screenplay Oscar over Tamara Jenkins' vastly superior offering.

Funny and caught me off guard emotionally, with my own aging father, it did leave me a bit uneasy of what is to come. love both stars, and enjoyed seeing Peter Friedman on the big screen again!
