If Atonement left you with a feeling of indifference and disbelief may I recommend you watch this movie. It is magical, comical and wholly endearing. It is beautilful to look at, wonderful to listen to and sublimely reassuring. If you believe the essence of what a motion picture ought to be, first and foremost, is entertaining, then this film will not let you down.

A lovely, quirky, slightly dark, sometimes very funny romantic epic. Shame the critics have ganged up to knock it - mainly because it doesn't quite fit the Hollywood model. If it had been filmed in Spanish they would have been raving about it as a great "foreign" film. I'm glad I ignored them. Captures well Garcia Marquez's slightly caricatured view of flawed humans in love. Moving and beautiful.

A terrible, terrible excuse for a film. This is without doubt one of the worst, least enjoyable films I have ever seen. The characters are unbeliveable and have ridiculous hair to make them look older. There is no character development - just constant speeches about the nature of love. It is extraordinarily dull as nothing really happens for the 50 odd years.

Wonderful Scenary a joy to watch. There were a few loose ends but that can be forgiven. I would recomend the book first as it's the best love story ever told.
