I have seen very few Bollywood films, but I am sooo glad I saw this one. Yes, it's long, but I enjoyed every minute of it. Far more than say Let There Be Blood, which did drag rather badly a number of times. There is some fabulous music as well. An epic indeed and I can't wait to see more Indian films. I would give it 5 out of 5 as well.

I watched this film at the Ritz in Shimla on 16 Feb 2008. I did not understand a word of the hindi dialogue but for three and a half hours I was carried away by the beauty and majesty of the film and watched it enraptured.The best 75 rupees I have ever spent! 5 stars

It starts off as a history lesson, and then progresses into a love story...and then back into a history lesson again. Overall, an enjoyoable film, but the ending was laughable. Some people in the cinema, did let out a laugh of disbelief. The ending was abrupt and untidy. Surely such an epic story deserved a better finish?

nice film, portrays the reality how the mughal kings ruled india- suppressing hindus and also their cruelty. Hrithik's acted so well, you will fall in love with his character. Aish is her usual average herself! the film sets, costumes great as expected from such a film-though it is not such a treat as Devdas!Long film, but you won't get bored for a minute apart from a few loud songs!

The similarities to Braveheart & Troy are true in that it is an epic tale set amongst real events with the blanks filled in using imagination & storytelling. Braveheart was mostly fiction and Troy was even more fiction: this historical-license is what makes great movies!To spark the imagination & invoke renewed public interest in india's rich history is an undertaking well done, Mr. Gowariker!

Well Done! This film leaves one wanting to know more about pre-british empire Indian history. This movie has challenged watchers to go back to a time of sovereign states that were resisting union as one country: India. Tourism boards in Rajasthan, History and Literature professors all should be thankful for renewed interest in travel and encouraged by the newfound curiousity generated by JA.

Jalaluddin Akbar is the type of leaders we need today to save our planet from destruction. He is also senstive to the treatment of women. The music and dancing in the movie was so wonderfully in tune with the universe. 5 stars please.

I also must add that this is a very poor review which does not do any justice to the standards set by the BBC

hrithik absolutely superb in the film. hrithik and ash are certaintly the hottest couple in bollywood who are made to do films together. Excellent cast who gave excellent performances.
