We were skeptical at the outset of this film as it appeared to have all the makings of a 2 hour film about a guy in the wilderness. We could not have been more wrong and we were deeply touched by this film. Emile Hirsch was brilliant start to finish. Don't miss this film and plan on watching the credits and sitting in the theatre for a few minutes afterwards to reflect and recover.

Undoubtedly Film of the Century, the performance by Hirsch is spellbinding. Sean Penn has surpassed all his predecessors with a film of depth, emotion and pure natural beauty. If there is one film you should see in your lifetime it is this compelling odyssy of a young man drawn back to nature who sacrifices everything in his quest for a pure life. 100% pure gold.

Best film of the year, how this didn't get more recognition is crazy. Penn's direction and screenplay along with the central performances are superb. It could so easily have been cheesey and it was nothing but fantastic. Potentially life-changing stuff. RIP Alexander Supertramp.
