  Kidman In Crash Scare
Nicole Kidman was taken to hospital last night after a Hollywood stunt went wrong. She was shooting a scene for sci-fi thriller The Invasion where her character tries to escape marauding alien zombies in a speeding car. The stunt driver (who was operating the rig attached to the car) lost control on a corner, causing the vehicle to crash into a lamppost at 45mph.

The actress and her ten-year-old co-star Jackson Bond, who was riding in the passenger seat, were both wearing seatbelts. Thankfully, no serious injuries were incurred. Kidman was released two hours later and went straight back to filming. Shocking though, isn't it? Nicole Kidman in an alien zombie movie...
  Holmes Goes Mad
Further to yesterday's news about Mad Money, word has it that Katie Holmes will now join Queen Latifah for the caper, inspired by 2001 British TV movie Hot Money. She'll be among a gang of cleaners who rob the US Federal Reserve of old banknotes earmarked for incineration. In Hot Money, the women smuggled the cash out of the building in their knickers. Holmes' underwear mightn't be big enough to pack too much in, although she can carry an entire Hollywood megastar in her pocket...

Thelma & Louise scribe Callie Khouri will call the shots.
  Howard Buys Children
Ron Howard and producing partner Brian Grazer have picked up the screen rights to The Emperor's Children. The novel by Claire Messud was long-listed for the Man Booker Prize last year, and Howard thinks he may be the ideal candidate to direct the film version. It's a comedy of manners (already we're doubtful) set in New York.

The plot centres on three 30-year-old blue-bloods who are struggling to make a mark after graduating from the prestigious Brown University years earlier. Sorry, are we expected to sympathise?
  Keitel Joins The Ministers
Harvey Keitel will join John Leguizamo in The Ministers. Indie filmmaker Franc Reyes is directing this crime thriller about a female NYPD detective (newcomer Florencia Lozano) whose father was murdered years ago by a gang known as The Ministers. She seeks revenge, but unknowingly becomes romantically involved with a member of the group. (Keitel will play a fellow cop.)

Throw in Sarah Jessica Parker and a pair of fluffy handcuffs and you've got a really bad episode of Sex And The City.
  Luke Leads Lambs
Derek Luke will feature in Robert Redford's pet project Lions For Lambs. Redford also takes a role (along with Tom Cruise, Meryl Streep and Michael Pena) in this ensemble drama about the impact of US military action in Afghanistan. Luke will play one of two soldiers cut off from their platoon in hostile territory and becomes the catalyst for several intersecting storylines.

The young actor was last seen playing ball in sporting flicks Glory Road and Friday Night Lights.
