Paltrow Gets An Itch
Gwyneth Paltrow is tipped to star in the Farrelly brothers' next comedy Seven Day Itch. Ben Stiller is already on board and The Boston Herald reports that Michelle Monaghan (Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang) is also in talks for this remake of 1972 comedy The Heartbreak Kid starring Cybill Shepherd and Charles Grodin.
Bobby Farrelly explains that Stiller will headline as a man who "thinks he's married the girl of his dreams. She's beautiful, but then, on their honeymoon, he finds out she's nuts." Paltrow would play the nutter with Monaghan entering the frame as a seductively sane love interest. And, of course, there'll be some jokes regarding the emission of bodily fluids and/or vomit.

Not Fantastic News For Diesel
Recent rumours that Vin Diesel will appear in Fantastic Four 2 are not true, reports Moviehole. After bailing out on crime drama Black Water Transit last week, the bald bruiser was said to be taking on the role of The Silver Surfer, one of Marvel Comics' best-loved intergalactic heroes. When asked, director Tim Story said there was "no truth to it."
"The Surfer will be a new CGI design being developed especially for the movie," he explains. "It's going to be incredible." Fine. We don't know who started the rumour, which has spread like wildfire across the internet, but after fronting flops like The Pacifier and Chronicles Of Riddick, we wouldn't be surprised if VD is suffering with a case of RSI...

The Birds Prepping For Takeoff
Prolific horror film producer Brad Fuller (Texas Chainsaw, Amityville) has been talking to IGN FilmForce about his new spin on Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds. "We're not remaking Hitchcock's movie, " he asserts. "What was interesting to us was that the short story [by Daphne Du Maurier] the Hitchcock film was based on was chock full of stuff that Hitchcock didn't use in his film. And so we went to those things and that's the basis of our film."
On the matter of whether Michael Bay will direct it, Fuller says, "No. I don't think Bay has the time. Transformers is non-stop until July 2007." That's a shame since we found Pearl Harbor one of the most frightening movie experiences of the last few years.

Wondering About Wonder Woman
According to The Hollywood North Report, writer-director Joss Whedon is in talks with a Bollywood star to front his long-gestating Wonder Woman movie. Priyanka Chopra (of Miss World 2000 'fame') is currently flying high at the Indian box office in Krrish, a Hindi superhero flick that's doing very well in the UK too.
Of course, after that 'Vin Diesel as Silver Surfer' rumour was debunked, we think this story is about as likely as a pig taking flight in a sparkly cape.
