Right from her first role in undeniably the best teenage TV show ever, My So Called Life, Claire Danes has been a bit different. No naff high-school teen movie could lure in this lass; only directors such as Baz Luhrman (Romeo + Juliet), Oliver Stone (U Turn) and Robert Altman (The Rainmaker) before she ditched Hollywood for Yale and an, albeit unfinished, Psychology degree. Since then she's done indie with Igby Goes Down, literary melodrama with The Hours, and good old-fashioned action with Arnie himself in Terminator 3. In her latest project The Family Stone, she joins forces with Sarah Jessica Parker and Diane Keaton on a festive flick about bickering families and unexpected romance.
