  Woo Goes French
Hong Kong's action man John Woo is prepping remakes of three vintage French thrillers: Honour Among Thieves (1968) starring Charles Bronson and Alain Delon, Rider On The Rain (1969) starring Bronson and Marlene Jobert and The Prone Gunman (1982), which stars Delon as an assassin who wants to hang up his .45. "My own films have been influenced by these French thrillers," Woo told Daily Variety, adding: "I saw Honour Among Thieves many times over in my youth."

The bad news is that Woo isn't planning to direct the films himself, but will bring in young filmmakers to join up the dots. But don't despair Gallic thriller fans: Woo's currently preparing his own reimagining of Melville classic Le Cercle Rouge and says he's tempted to direct the Honour Among Thieves remake himself: "If I have time I would like to. I love it so much."
  Amazon In Australia
Wonder Woman is going down... under that is. Producer Joel Silver has revealed that the in-development superhero(ine) pic will probably shoot in Australia when cameras roll sometime next year. Silver - who shot all three Matrix movies in Sydney and incoming horror flick House Of Wax on the Aussie Gold Coast - told newspaper The Age, "I love working in Australia. It makes great sense to me." We'll have to wait to see who's squeezing into the star-spangled blue knickers, because there's no word on casting yet: Buffy scribe Joss Whedon is still plugging away at the script.
  Dream On
About A Boy helmer Paul Weitz is teaming up with Hugh Grant again for American Dreamz. Dennis Quaid, Chris Klein and Mandy Moore are in talks to join the social satire about politics and celebrity. "The movie examines the role of dreams and ambitions in American culture," blabbed Weitz, "It's about what's wrong with America and how close it is to what's right with America." Grant is lined up to play a disaffected British celeb (ooh, taxing), while Quaid could join the cast as an US president suffering a nervous breakdown.
  Revenge Of The Geeks
Ewan McGregor says he's terrified of obsessive Star Wars fans. The actor, who wields a lightsaber as Obi-Wan Kenobi in Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge Of The Sith, says he's had enough of being hounded by fanboys and girls who want the force to be with them.

"I find it all a bit frightening," the actor told The Internet Movie Database. "Once this guy met me at a stage door when I was doing a play in London. The guy yelled, 'Obi-Wan. Do you have any advice for a trainee Jedi?' I just said, 'No, don't be so ridiculous.' It's just so weird, it really is." High Noon would put up with much, much worse for even a quarter of Mr McGregor's salary.
  The Prince & The Crowe
Russell Crowe has found a new role: acting as Prince Harry's adviser. According to reports in The Sun, the royal and the thesp have been exchanging letters since the release of Crowe's nautical flick Master And Commander. Apparently Crowe has been helping the prince deal with the vagaries of fame. "If you've never been unfairly tried by the media, your personality diminished, your intellect rubbished and your achievements torn apart and belittled, then you don't know what it's like," says Crowe, defending the prince's recent bad press including his Nazi uniform gaffe.
