John Travolta mounts a mechanical bull as he proves himself an "Urban Cowboy" in a country and western music flick that's all gee'd up for DVD.
Picture Colours are solid and the print is in reasonable condition, but the picture transfer is a little soft and grainy.
Sound The 5.1 audio is a toe-tapping delight, with the relentless honky tonk taking full advantage of the speakers through some good mixing.
Outakes These aren't the type of outtakes you'd be tempted to send to You've Been Framed but there are multiple takes of Travolta trying to get his complex footwork right.
Rehearsal Footage This section kicks off with Debra Winger working the mechanical bull. She manages to seduce the darn thing with a series of provocative moves that culminate in her standing astride it. It's strangely hypnotic stuff...
Back to business, and Travolta takes on the bull, which is clearly in a frisky mood after Winger's teasing and leaves John walking somewhat bowlegged after their tussle. Finally, we end with Travolta and Winger both on the bull and there's certainly amusement to be had from them trying to canoodle on it without smacking into each other.
