As it turns out, this wasn't the final Freddy flick - and that's no bad thing - because this is hardly an inspirational end to a horror movie series with a few more highlights than most. That said, little effort has been made with this DVD release, especially when compared to the Region 1 version.
Unlike the widescreen US disc, here we get a fullscreen transfer for the movie. It's reasonable quality, but there's no denying that the picture is a little soft and lacks detail in darker scenes.
The 2.0 surround mix is a busy affair with a fair number of steering effects between the speakers, but it isn't as good as the 5.1 effort for the US disc.
Extra features consist of some reasonable film notes on the background of the series by David Hughes, and a trailer. Not bad, but it's hardly the group commentary with Wes Craven that the Region 1 disc had, is it?
