Gang warfare and a massive police operation turn one night into a battleground as members of The Warriors fight across the seamy underbelly of New York for their lives. Fast, violent, dark, and thrilling, fans of "The Warriors" will want to know "Can you dig it?" on DVD? Yes, you can.
The sole reason to get this DVD is for the picture quality. It's incredibly fresh looking for a film of this age and constantly surprises in the sharp definition it offers. Andrew Laszlo's cinematography of the dark night-time setting is excellent, and it really shows in this superb transfer.
Not as exciting is the mono sound mix, but it is a gutsy effort that doesn't distort and carries good bass.
A commentary from Walter Hill or an interview would have been great. Sadly, all we get is a trailer, but the transfer is reason enough to get this DVD.
