From that great promoter of arse in the movies, here's a relatively new offering from 'Il Maestro' himself, Tinto Brass. In "Frivolous Lola" he directs a tale of a young girl recently engaged but unwilling to wait until marriage for the kneading action her baker fiancé cruelly lavishes upon his doughy creations instead of her. Made in 1998, this represents the best transfer yet for a 'Tinto'.
Any DVDs so far released of Tinto titles have always been sourced from exceptionally tired-looking prints. The one used for this disc is quite fresh and lacks the usual scratches and jumps that so often riddle his other masterpieces.
The 2.0 sound mix is in stereo (a true luxury for Tinto devotees), although it's mainly used for the benefit of the Pino Donaggio score, and the many popular 60s tunes that litter the movie.
Extra features include an interview with the great man himself, which is also available on the "Miranda" DVD. Worth a quick peek is the small but naughty photo gallery.
