Another serial killer hits the streets in this offbeat and slick little flick. Made with a bit more style than most, it looks very good in a fair DVD release.
Heavily stylised visuals run through this movie, and they work well in a top-notch picture transfer. Various camera tricks and variable filming speeds are used, and the effect remains sharp and clear.
The sound mix is 2.0, which is a little disappointing given how recent this film is. It still works well, though, especially in terms of creating a spacious feel in the speakers around you. Most of the music used comes from German dance producers including Jam & Spoon. And while these tunes play well, they're the types of tracks that would really come to life in 5.1.
Some time and care has been taken to produce a freakish and unsettling menu design. It's a shame then that the extra features are all text-based (except for the trailer). But the production notes are worth a read, and as always Metrodome have the right idea when it comes to scene selection menus - no pokey little thumbnails here!
