Janet Jackson - Show Business

Nutty Professor II: The Klumps

Interviewed by Film 2000 with Jonathan Ross

You come from a very well known show business family. Do you feel that's been a help or a hindrance to you in terms of developing your own career?

It could be both ways. It made it much easier for me to get my foot in the door and enter into the business. But there are cons; the comparisons and wondering what you truly can do or if you're as talented as the next person in your family or if it's just a fluke. It's been tough at times but then I wouldn't change it for the world.

Where do you see your career going? Are you going to keep making films and perhaps put making music on the back burner?

I'll never give up my music, as a matter of fact I'm working on the new album now. But I will continue to do films because acting is definitely a passion.

Who are the actors that really inspire you?

I'm crazy about Meryl Streep, Glenn Close and I love Angela Bassett. And I'm crazy about Denzel Washington, De Niro and I love Al Pacino.
