Chris Croucher was born in August 1981 in Guildford, Surrey.
He started writing at a very early age and this fascination in story telling led him to study a BA in Film Production (He graduated in 2003).
After graduating he has balanced his writing with a successful career as an assistant director. He has worked on films and shows such as; Little Dorrit, Sense and Sensibility, Wimbledon, Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy, Magicians, Brick Lane and 28 Weeks Later.
His first script, the noir thriller 'I Am Tyler Marks' was given a development from Screen South and the UK Film Council in 2005. His next project; a comedy based in the the horse racing world and entitled 'Bitter Sweet' is now being developed as a Feature film.
In 2007 Chris completed a television pilot entitled Twenty Something; The Quarter Life Crisis Of Jack Lancaster (based on the book by Iain Hollingshead).
In 2008 Chris moved away from just writing and directed the short Film 'The Beachcombers' which was funded by Film London via The Lewisham Film Initiative and Co-written with Mark Beynon. The romantic short starred Charity Wakefield and Rasmus Hardiker. As well as screening at festivals worldwide the film went on to win the Film London & ITV 'Best Of Borough award 2008' presented at BAFTA.
Following â€˜The Beachcombersâ€™ success, Chris decided to make his second short film â€“ In Passing. The 1940â€™s drama starred Lesley Sharp, Russell Tovey and Sean Pertwee and is set for the 2009/2010 festival circuit.
In Development: 'Christie'. A low budget feature re telling the Rillington Place Murders of the 1940's.
