Nathan is an experienced composer of contemporary and orchestrated soundtracks for the moving image. His work is diverse and has many influences.
Being entirely self-taught, his approach to composition benefits from an open-mindedness and desire for experimentation that is without theoretical constraints. In addition, his work for television has ensured that all commissions comply realistically within the brief and deadline.
Nathan started composing for theatre in 1996 with the stage production of Terry Prattchet’s Guards! Guards! UK National tour, and ‘Sympathy for the devil’, performed at The Royal Court Theatre, London.
Television commissions followed in 1997 with compositions for Celador, Hawkshead, Endemol UK, Wildfire productions and BBC animation.
His Short film work has won awards at the Portobello Film Festival with others receiving much critical acclaim at both Raindance and the London Film Festival. Collaborations include the award winning directors of "Le Chaval 2.1" and Gauntlet & Son whose Short film "The Equater Complex" was shortlisted for the 2006 Depict! competition at The Encounters film fetival.
Multimedia work includes compositions for Independent radio advertising, Channel branding and a landmark commission for the Safe surfing campaign on the CBBC website.
