Biography

Aaron Young is a BAFTA-nominated producer/director who can be found at Independent film & television production company, Bright Button Productions. Previously, he was based at London-based indie, Maya Vision International, where he worked on several projects including the BBC/PBS Michael Wood series 'In Search of Myths & Heroes', the PBS series 'Walking the Bible: A Journey into Three Faiths', 'Durga - The Goddess Comes To London'(five), 'Heart of Darfur' (PBS), 'Christina: A Medieval Life'(BBC), 'Michael Wood's Story of England' (BBC), 'Battle of Britain: The Real Story' (BBC), 'DamBusters: The Race to Smash the German Dams' (BBC) and 'The Battle for Malta' (BBC). Until September 2010, a lot of his attention was focused on the UK Film Council Short Film Completion Fund, which was managed by Maya Vision International and where he held the role of Completion Fund Executive. The Completion Fund awarded money to short films that have been shot to a roughcut stage, but lack the funds to finish. The scheme was supported by the National Lottery through the UK Film Council's New Cinema Fund.
